RENOWNED CLASSIC CARS AND THE NEW ERA OF ELECTRIC CARS ON DISPLAY  AT SWAN REACH RIVER RUN EVENT

Following on from the fabulously successful Classic Car and Music event exactly twelve months ago, the Swan Reach Progress Association and the Murray Mallee Auto Club have decided to do it all again.

Classic cars from across the State will make their way to the idyllic river location of Swan Reach on Sunday 7th April for the second Swan Reach River Run.

Centred around the Swan Reach Car Gallery, classic and vintage cars will line the main road through Swan Reach showcasing a collection not to be missed.

Avid collector and founder of the Swan Reach Car Gallery and Chairman of the Swan Reach Progress Association, John George OAM said he was excited to see the streets of Swan Reach come alive again with magic of classic cars and bikes.

“Kevin Weeks of Classic Adelaide Rally fame will be bringing up his Rally winning Lamborghini and his Ferrari.

“We are thrilled to have the just released All Electric Hyundai KONA at the event and for a small charge (pardon the pun) will be providing rides in this quite incredible car that will be piloted by Mark Stacey, a past Australian and Asia Pacific Rally  champion”.

“Andrew Hayes will be displaying his famous 1914 Prince Henry Vauxhall, that collectors in the UK are still trying to get their hands on. This car ran a race with the Melbourne Express at the end of WW1 and won so 104 years old and still no slouch”.

“Mid Murray Classic car gallery has become an integral attraction in the township since its opening last year attracting many car groups and visitors and will be open with some beautiful machinery on view”.

“At the official luncheon we will be not only enjoying great food and wine but also hearing a talk from Ed Ordynski, many times Australian and Asia pacific Rally champion as well as well as winning several World Rally events.  Ed is an articulate orator who gives a great delivery”.

This riverside event will also feature live entertainment with country rock band ‘Crossfire’, bar facilities, food stalls and one hour cruises from the Swan Reach Wharf on board the oldest paddle wheeler in South Australia, the PW Mayflower built in 1884.

Gold coin entry from 10 am to 5 pm with proceeds to the Murray Mallee Car Club and Swan Reach Progress Association, Bar facilities and food stalls.
