Celebrating Christmas mid-year is now a culinary tradition we can enjoy on board the Paddle Steamer Marion as she cruises the magnificent Murray from Mannum to Bowhill in July.
Whilst cruising with Jazz as the paddle wheel turns and the steam whistle roars, a sumptuous traditional Christmas fare cooked on board will be served culminating in a homemade pudding just like Grandma makes.
Two luncheon cruises are scheduled with the first departing Saturday 14th July at 11.30 a.m. from Mannum where you will listen to the melodic sounds of All 4 Jazz, a traditional jazz quartet on the top deck followed by a superb buffet luncheon presented by Chef Derek on the original wood oven creating the tastes like Grandma use to make.
You will arrive in the picturesque township of Bowhill around 3pm where a bus will await to return you back to your departure port in Mannum.
The PS Marion built in 1897 is an original steam driven side paddle wheeler and is operated by a dedicated crew of volunteers devoted to keeping Murray River maritime heritage alive.
The second luncheon cruise will see the PS Marion make her way back to Mannum departing Bowhill on Sunday 15th July and will take in the every
changing river landscape as you relax and enjoy the Christmas Jazz and the magnificent passing scenery.
Luncheon tickets are $95.00 for adults and $50.00 for children includes lunch, 3.5 hour cruise, entertainment and bus return to departure point. Bar facilities on board and bookings at www.psmarion.com or phone the Mannum Dock Museum on 85692733.
