Nikalapko is a historic sheep station located on the Murray River near the town of Morgan, South Australia. Purchased by the Reid family in 1916, it has since been a producer of various livestock, lucerne production and horticulture.
In recent years, the 4th generation have diversified the property once again with a tourism venture beginning with an original, river stone dwelling being transformed into the now busy rental retreat. Nikalapko Homestay is 4 acres of tranquillity nestled on the flood plains amongst old red gums and mallee. The home boasts 4 spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms, lounge, dinning and a beautiful big kitchen that offers stunning river views. A large deck wraps around the house, with plenty of well thought out spots to sit, relax and entertain as well as a lawned walk way that connects the house to the private pontoon at the water’s edge. Whether you are after a family getaway with the kids, a group of friends needing a well overdue catch up or a romantic getaway with that special someone, Nikalapko Homestay will capture your heart and offer you all you could have ever wanted and more. Check out their website and Facebook page for more info.
Inspired by its success and positive growth, Angus and Hannah have a vision to share more of the beautiful surroundings of the property, and look to move back permanently in the not so distant future. “We feel that over time we’ve come to understand what people are looking for in their experience within this region, and would like to expand what we have on offer to a wider range of customers.”
